The policemen who were dismissed for various reasons during the tenure of the previous government have demanded reinstatement of their jobs by executive order.

The fired policemen made this demand in a human chain in front of the main gate of the secretariat on Monday at 12:30 noon.

Dismissed policemen said that we were harassed and dismissed during the previous government. Someone got fired for posting something on Facebook. Many members have been dismissed for drug abuse. Many have even been fired without any cause. We have been discriminated against. We want this discrimination to end ‍and want to act as the people’s police.

They also said in the human chain that our jobs should be returned. We want our clothes back, we want to return to the service of the people. We want our jobs reinstated by executive order. They also said that they would give the memorandum to the chief advisor of the interim government Dr Mohammad Yunus.

The reinstatement movement was led by sacked SI Feroz Ahmed, Al Imran, Shaheen Ahmed Sagar, Nayek Rezaul Karim, woman constable Tanya Akhtar and others.
