The hearing of the writ petition filed in the High Court seeking the banning of Bangladesh Awami League and cancellation of the party’s registration for indiscriminate killing of students during the anti-discrimination movement will be held next Thursday.

On Tuesday Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md. Mahbubul ul Islam’s High Court bench fixed this day for hearing.

Petitioner Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan himself heard the petition on behalf of the court.

Also, in the writ, instructions have been sought to change the name of the institutions which are in Sheikh Hasina’s name.

The same petition sought a minimum three-year term for the current interim government to reform the country. Along with this, it has been requested to bring back 11 lakh crores smuggled abroad and to transfer the officials who were appointed on contractual basis during the previous Awami League government.

The writ petitioner’s lawyer Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan said that a rule and order has been sought in these matters of the writ.
