The news ‘6 student leaders on India’s blacklist’ is fake

The Mirror Asia reports that India has imposed a visa ban on 6 Bangladeshi student leaders involved in the anti-discrimination movement. The report also claims that New Delhi has taken this step on charges of inciting anti-India mobs and engaging in activities against India’s national interest. However, India has termed the news of the visa ban on 6 student leaders as ‘fake’.

On Sunday, India Monday published this news citing PTI. According to the report, Indian government sources termed the report that India imposed a visa ban on 6 Bangladeshi student leaders as ‘fake news’.

A section of Bangladeshi media claimed that India has taken this “step” against those student leaders to arouse “anti-India” sentiment.

According to this Indian media, several government sources in New Delhi termed these reports as “fake news”.

Earlier, The Mirror Asia reported that six student leaders and their close relatives in Bangladesh have been blacklisted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India for inciting anti-India mobs and being involved in activities against India’s national interest.

The report claimed that the president of a section of the Gono Odhikar Parishad and former VP of Ducsu Nurul Haque Nur, Gonotantrik Chhatra Shakti convenor Akhtar Hossain, special assistant to the newly appointed chief adviser Mahfuz Alam, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement Hasnat Abdullah, Sarjis Alam and Nusrat Tabassum have been banned by India.

The report also claimed that some Indian journalists working in Delhi confirmed the matter to The Mirror Asia. Even in the meantime, the verbal instructions have been sent to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, The Mirror Asia reports.
