TDS Desk:
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has readjusted the consumer-level price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder, increasing it by Tk44 for September.
The consumers will need to pay Tk1,421 per 12kg cylinder, up from the previous price of Tk1,377 starting from Monday evening.
The BERC came up with the announcement in a statement on Monday noon.
The regulatory commission also increased the price of a 12kg cylinder by Tk11 to Tk1,377 for August.
However, it is a long-standing complaint that consumers cannot purchase LPG at the retail level at the price set by the BERC.
In this context, BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed said that the commission will initiate a monitoring system to put this end.
