Workers set fire to the godown of a garment factory in the Kashimpur area of ​​Gazipur metropolis. The protesting workers of a neighboring factory torched the godown of a factory called ‘Bigboss’ on Wednesday (September 11) at noon.

Eyewitnesses said that the company’s godown and stock cloth godown were burning in a terrible fire. No fire service unit could reach the spot till 1:45 pm.

Locals said that the workers “vandalized” a vehicle of the fire service unit on the way to the spot. As a result, they could not enter the spot. The fire, which started around 12 pm, gradually got out of control.

Meanwhile, the firemen went back as the fire service vehicle was vandalized when they came to the spot after receiving the news of the fire. However, the factory workers are trying to put out the fire with their own firefighting system.

Kashempur Metro Police Station OC Jahidul Islam said that the matter has been reported to the fire service authorities. They are going to the scene.
