A Dhaka court Thursday on (September 12) placed former Dhaka district additional police super Abdullahil Kafi on a fresh five-day remand in connection with the Ashabul yeamin murder at Savar on 18 July during the student movement.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Julhas Uddin passed the order after Md Abdulla Biswas, an inspector of Savar Police Station and the investigation officer of the case, produced him in court seeking a seven-day remand.

Ashabul Yeamin was a student Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST).

Earlier Kafi was put on an eight-day remand in an abduction and ransom case.

Later police appealed to arrest him in the Ashabul murder with seven days’ remand.

The court granted the appeal and later placed a five-day remand.
