There has been a ‘bearing pad displacement’ of the Metrorail infrastructure in front of Islamia Eye Hospital in Khamarbari in the capital and it is currently being repaired. Because of this, metro rail movement has been stopped from Agargaon to Motijheel section.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director Mohammad Abdur Rauf said that a bearing pad of the metro rail infrastructure has been displaced. The bearing pad is placed under the viaduct and above the pillar. The viaduct technically has four springs above the pillars. One of the springs has been displaced. The route alignment has been crooked due to spring displacement. In this condition, the train can be run, but it becomes dangerous. So for the safety of the passengers the issue will be resolved and then the train will resume service.

Train services stopped at 9:40 am on Wednesday.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the managing authority of the metro rail, said that the movement of trains from Agargaon to Motijheel is temporarily suspended.
