BNP will return to home after ensuring voting rights: Tarique Rahman

BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman said, “BNP will return to home after ensuring voting rights of people. It will help to fulfill the expectation of people. This is why, we must be united right now.”

He told this virtually, while addressing as chief guest in a historic memorial meeting held at Islamia High School ground in Enayetpur of Sirajganj district on Saturday.

The programme was organized by Belkuchi, Chowhali and Enayetpur thana BNP remembering to the martyrs, who lost their lives during the Students Movement on August 4.

Tarique Rahman said, “People said goodbye to the autocratic government led by Sheikh Hasina. It has fulfilled partial of the goals. But, there is remaining much more way. We have to ensure voting rights of people in which they can select their leaders by casting votes.”

“People of the country are facing economic scarcity as well as security of lives. Country’s most of the money has been siphoned to abroad through unbridled grafts and anomalies. Now time has come to do something for people. We want to open the door of economic development. If people of the country get rid from economic instability, they will take breath in peace. BNP should make this path,” the BNP boss said.

Tarique Rahman further said, “Sirajganj is the gateway of northern region. There is huge feasibility of economic development. Belkuchi, Enayetpur and Chowhali are known as weaving rich area. We can earn huge foreign revenue by exporting handloom and power-loom products along with garlic and groundnut, which are produced in the greater Chalan Beel and several Chars of the Jamuna river. If we try jointly, people of the region will get a brighter future.”

Central BNP’s Assistant Publicity Secretary Amirul Islam Khan Alim presided over the program, while BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rijvi, former State Minister for Power Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Sirajganj District BNP President Rumana Mahmud, BNP’s central committee’s member and Sirajganj District BNP’s Secretary General Saidur Rahman Bachchu among others spoke on the occasion. Of them, Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku joined in the programme through a virtual platform.

The programme was conducted by Enayetpur thana BNP’s Member Secretary Monzurul Islam Monzu.

Ruhul Kabir Rijvi in his speech said, “Sheikh Hasina established her dictatorship on the pool of human bloods in the last 15 years. Killing and abduction were her main weapons. But, the Students-Public Movement destroyed her evil empire. The protesters have played a vital role in this regard. Due to their protest, the dictator leader Sheikh Hasina fled the country like thief. So, those, who lost their lives during the movement, we have to pay tribute to them forever.”
