A man was killed and another injured in a road accident on the Bogura-Nagorbari highway at Parkola link road area in Shahzadpur upazila of Sirajganj district on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Miraj Mandal, 18, son of Barkat Ali Mandal of Parkola village in the upazila.

Sabuj Rana, Officer-in-Charge of Shahzadpur police station told The Daily Sky that, the accident took place at around 11:00am, when a speeding truck hits a rickshaw-van from behind leaving the van passenger Miraj dead on the spot and another passenger Sagor injured.

The injured was admitted to local hospital and the body of the death was sent to Shaheed M Monsur Ali Medical and Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
