The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested former lawmaker Abdus Salam Murshedy in Dhaka on Tuesday night.
The ex-MP for Khulna-4 was apprehended in the Bashundhara Residential Area, the battalion said in a text message.
He has been arrested in connection with a murder that took place in Khulna’s Phultola area in 2022.
Salam Murshedy had also been the senior vice-president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) since 2008.
He resigned from his post on 8 August, three days after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government in the face of the student-led mass uprising.
