Enayetpur thana police on Thursday arrested a youth for killing a woman.

The arrested was identified as Jakaria Hossain, 30, son of Khorshed Alam of Nawhata Char under Enayetpur police station in Sirajganj district.

Rawshan Yeazdani, Officer-in-Charge of Enayetpur PS told The Daily Sky that, Jakaria chopped his aunt-in-law Monowara Begum, wife of late Shanta Sheikh with a sharp weapon on Wednesday. He also severed the head and two hands of the victim from body.

Later, he tried to flee, but locals nabbed him and handed over to police. In the preliminary stage, police seem that the arrestee may be mentally sick.

The body was recovered and sent to the morgue for autopsy. A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
