Two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Baraigram upazila inNatore district on Friday night.

The incident occurred around 9:30 PM in the Rezur Mor area on the Bonpara-Hartikumrul highway in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 32, son of Lutfar Rahman, from Nilphamari district, and Utsab Datta, 24, son of Paritosh Kumar, from Rajshahi district.

It was learnt that a bus of National Travels was heading to Rajshahi from Dhaka collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, two passengers of the bus dead on the spot and injuring two others.

Upon receiving information, police recovered the bodies and handed them over to their family members upon request, said Md Ismail, officer-in-charge of Boraigram Highway Police Station.
