N’ganj Correspondent:

Six family members suffered burn injuries from a fire caused by gas line leakage in Narayanganj’s Rupganj on Friday night.

The incident happened at a house at Dahargaon area at Rupganj.

The victims are currently undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. They are Md Babul Hossain, 47, Shelly Akter, 36, Munni Akter, 20, Md Jewel, 22, Md Ismail, 16′ and Taslima Akter, 13.

Md Jewel Rana, who took the victims to the hospital, said that all the injured work at a garment factory in Rupganj. The fire broke out at their house while lighting a mosquito coil at night.

Md Tariqul Islam, a resident doctor at the hospital, said that the condition of the six burnt victims is critical, with over 55 per cent of their bodies were burnt.
