Shanto Ahmed, a Jubo Dal leader died and four others were injured in a collision between a speedboat and a trawler on the Meghna River on Adhara Union in Jazira of Munshiganj on Friday night.

The deceased Shanto Ahmed is the son of Burhan Sarkar of the North Chramshura area of ​​Charkewar Union.

It is known that a speedboat coming from Dhaka collided with a trawler in the Jazira area. At that time, Shanto Ahmed, joint convener of Sadar Upazila Jubo Dal, was seriously injured. Later he was taken to a private hospital in Dhaka after treatment from there he was transferred to Munshiganj General Hospital. He died there around 2:30 am.

Munshiganj Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar confirmed the matter.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased claimed that the incident was a premeditated murder. The Superintendent of Police said that the matter is being investigated.
