53rd National Cooperative Day was observed in Chapainawabganj on Saturday with the slogan “Cooperative to build discrimination-free Bangladesh.”
Different programmes were taken up in the district to mark the day.
After hoisting the national flag in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 10-15 am, a colourful procession was brought out participated by the officers and employees of the district administration and Cooperative Department.
After parading the main roads of the town, the procession ended at the same venue.
Later a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the DC with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Nakib Hasan Tarafdar in the chair.
Deputy Director of Local Government Debendra Nath Oraon attended it as the chief guest while Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operation) Md. Nuruzzaman attended the function as the special guest.
Chapainawabganj District Cooperative Officer Md. Mostafizur Rahman gave the welcome speech.
Members of Cooperative Societies Tania Begum, Matiur Rahman and Md. Gazi among others spoke on the occasion.
