1 killed, 6 burnt in Mymensingh filling station fire

One person was killed and six others suffered injuries in a devastating fire that broke out at Azahar Filling Station on Rahmanpur Bypass Road in Mymensingh around 3:00 pm on Monday.

Among the deceased, one has been identified as Himel, a private car driver, Md Safiqul Islam Khan, Officer-in-charge of Kotwali model police station, told media.

He also mentioned that six people sustained burns and were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Md Mozammel Hossain, Deputy Director of Mymensingh Fire Service and Civil Defence, said that after being informed, seven firefighting units rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control.

No staff from the filling station could be found, so it has not yet been possible to determine how the fire started, he added.
