A woman was killed when a truck ran over her after falling from an easy bike in Dinajpur. However, her one-year-old child in her lap is unharmed in the accident.

The accident took place on Tuesday (November 12) around 10:30 am in Nimnagar Balubari Shaheed Minar Mor area in Dinajpur town.

The victim was identified as Rozina Khatun, 25, wife of Faruk Hossain, a resident of Shankarpur village under Biral upazila in the district.

According to police and family, Rozina Khatun was going to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital by an easy bike with her one-year-old child. On the way, when they reached in that area, Rozina Khatun fell on the road with the child in her lap from the easy bike while it was taking a U-turn. Just at that time, a truck behind Rozina ran over her head. She died on the spot.

However, the child in her lap is unharmed. In the accident, the driver and the truck were seized and handed over to police by the angry crowd.

Immediately after the accident, fire service and policemen came and recovered the body and sent it to Dinajpur Medical College morgue.

Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Matiur Rahman confirmed it and said legal action is under process in this regard.
