The government has permitted to open shops and shopping malls amid the lockdown in compliance with the hygiene rules. Shops and shopping malls can be opened from 10 am to 5 pm from April 25 (Sunday) as per the instructions. But, all visitors or buyers must be needed movement pass for going to the shopping malls or markets.
This was informed in a circular signed by Md. Rezaul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the Field Administration Coordination Branch of the Cabinet Division on Friday
According to the notification, the government has taken this decision considering the livelihood of a large number of people. From April 25, the shopping malls can be opened from 10 am to 5 pm subject to proper hygiene rules. The management committee of the concerned market or organization will take the necessary steps for compliance with the hygiene rules.
Earlier on April 18, the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association held a press conference at the office of the New Market Owners’ Association in the capital and demanded that the shops and shopping malls reopen from April 22.
