Sports Desk:
Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain and experienced batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is set to miss the white-ball series against West Indies.
A top BCB official confirmed the development to Daily Sun, adding that they are expecting them to return in competitive cricket through the forthcoming NCL T20, scheduled from December 11.
“I don’t think they will be able to make it for the white-ball series against West Indies as both of them are not likely to recover fully before the white-ball series,” said a BCB official on request of annonimity.
“They are expected to return in competitive cricket with the NCL,” he said.
Towards the end of Afghanistan’s batting innings in the three-match series opener Mushfiqur injured the tip of his left Index finger while keeping wickets and X-ray after the match confirmed a fracture on his left Index near the DIP joint.
In the second ODI, Najmul sustained groin injury while fielding and following the game he underwent scan that revealed he sustained Grade II strain on his left groin.
Both of them were ruled out from the Test series against West Indies but team management were hoping that they will be available during the white-ball series in Caribbean.
