BNP Standing Committee member Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, “National government will be formed, if BNP gets victory in the upcoming national parliamentary elections.”
He came up with the remarks, while addressing as chief guest at a historical public rally arranged at Nimgachi Degree College grounds in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district on Wednesday afternoon on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
Referring to the minorities, he said that, “Chhatra League leaders and activists blame BNP after attacking the minorities. This is why, everyone should be alert over this. People from all religions including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists are our (BNP’s) reliance.”
He said, “Most of the Awami League leaders and activists managed to flee the country after uprising on August 5. But, BNP leaders and activists did not do so even after becoming victims of huge repression by the AL men for over 16 years. This is the great character of BNP. BNP does not believe in escaping. It believes to fight against all inconsistencies.”
The former State Minister for Power Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku further said, “Students of the new generation supported BNP and it is expected that they will keep a greater contribution to punish Awami League in future for their evil deeds.”
The rally was presided over by Alhaz Md Shamsul Islam, President of Raiganj Upazila BNP, while former Parliament Member for Sirajganj-2 Constituency and District BNP President Rumana Mahmud, District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Assistant General Secretary of Central BNP AH Muhammad Khokon, Jubo Dal President Mirza Abdur Zabbar Babu and Sechchha Sebak Dal Convener Abdullah Al Koyes among others addressed on the occasion.
