The Fire Service have brought a fire at pesticide warehouse in the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial area in Mymensingh’s Maskanda under control after two hours of effort.
The fire broke out around 10am on Friday at the HayChem Bangladesh Pesticide Godown. The blaze then spread to nearby buildings, according to Matiur Rahman, deputy director of the Mymensingh Division unit of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Ten Fire Service units rushed to the spot when the fire was reported. The fire was then brought under control around 12pm.
The Fire Service official could not immediately confirm how the fire started or the extent of the damages.
