The Marine Court has issued warrants to arrest 19 Bangladeshi mariners who fled from vessels docked at foreign ports over the last three years.
The general people have been asked to provide information regarding the law-breaking mariners to the nearest police station or the Department of Shipping (DOS), according to a notice issued by DOS.
At least, 13 different ships are involved in the incidents including three owned by Bangladeshi entities.
The shipping department is compiling more information and reportedly plans to take actions against all individuals involved in similar incidents.
