A view exchange meeting with the newly joined Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nazrul Islam was held at the Upazila Parishad Hall Room in Shahzadpur of Sirajganj district on Thursday.

The officers and employees of Shahzadpur upazila administration, local service users and providers, public representatives and dignitaries took part in the event.

In the beginning of programme, Md. Kamruzzaman, UNO of Shahzadpur delivered his welcome speech highlighting various aspects of the upazila.

The Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam said, “Shahzadpur is containing most importance among other upazilas of the district due to its economic, geographical, historical and archeological background. This place is also famous around the world due to locating Rabindra Kacharibari here. So, there are huge scopes to work here for more development.”

Appreciating to several demands of the participants, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) said, “Sirajganj District Administration in collaboration with upazila administration is eager to work on all logical demands of Shahzadpur dwellers in which the prevailed crises are removed shortly. To fulfill your demands, necessary initiatives will be taken as soon as possible.”

Replying to a query, the DC said, “If you want, the wine shop that set up for the people of Bagdi community will be lifted from here with the aim to establish peace and harmony.”

Earlier this, speakers sought interference of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nazrul Islam to resolve problems on different fields including clothe market, dairy farms, pasture land, Baghabari port and the liquor shop.

Kamruzzaman, Upazila BNP General Secretary Arifuzzaman Arif, Senior Vice President Abdul Jabbar, General Secretary of BNP’s Municipal Unit Haji Ayub Ali, Jamaat-e-Islami Upazila Unit Acting Ameer Maulana Nizam Uddin, Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Upazila Unit General Secretary Hafez Abdullah, Journalist Forum’s President Rajib Ahmed Russell, Press Club President MA Zafar Liton, General Secretary Alamin Hossain, teachers’ representative Md. Mohiuddin, cultural activist Kazi Shawkat and Sultan Mahmud among others spoke on the occasion.
