Detective Branch (DB) of Police in a raid at Kodda intersection in Sirajganj Sadar upazila on Monday evening arrested a-couple along with eight kilograms of hemp.

The arrestees are Yusuf Ali, 52, son of late Idris Ali of Sukhdeb village in Rajarhat thana of Kurigram district and his wife Hawanur Begum, 42.

Ekramul Hossain, Officer in Charge of DB police in Sirajganj confirmed the matter on Tuesday and said, a team of DB police raided the mentioned place and arrested the duo based on a-secret information.

A case was lodged with the Sirajganj police station in this connection. The arrested were sent to jail after producing them before a court in Sirajganj.
