Three students of Sirajganj Collectorate School & College went missing, while taking bath in Fuljor river near Jhantibelai village in Kamarkhanda upazila of Sirajganj district on Saturday noon.
The victims have been identified as Rafi, 15, son of Abdur Rahim of Jhantibelai village, Krisna, 16, and Sarjil, 15, both resident at Sirajganj town and they were class nine students of Sirajganj Collectorate School & College in the town.
Sources said, five friends from Sirajganj town went to visit the house of their friend Jarif, also grandson of local UP Chairman Enamul Haque at the mentioned village in the upazila. Later, the six friends went to the Fuljor river to take bath. At one stage, three of them went missing.
On information, a life saving team of Kamarkhanda Fire Service and Civil Defense office reached to the spot and started salvage operation. But, no one of the victims was found until filing the report. The effort to recover them is still underway.
Mokhlesur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Kamarkhanda police station said, police have lent their helping hand alongside with the fire fighters to recover the missing students. Besides, the skilled divers from Fire Service and Civil Defense in Rajshahi have been called for it.
