A Correspondent, Rangpur:
Dense fog has caused a six-way collision after vehicles veered out of control at a single intersection in Rangpur on Saturday.
At least 22 people were injured in the incident at the Garer Matha intersection on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway in Mithapukur around 7:30 am.
Moniruzzaman, chief of the Baradargah Highway Police, said a fish-loaded pick-up pushed a car from behind. The impact caused the pick-up to ascend an island, spilling fish water on the road and rendering it extremely slippery.
The vehicles involved in the accident were three buses, a truck, a pickup truck, and a covered van.
Transport movement on the affected lane was fully normalized by 1:00pm, he added.
