A Narayanganj court on Wednesday (February 5) placed former Law Minister Anisul Huq on a three-day remand in connection with the murder case of Ashik Mia (20).

Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Nour Mohsin passed the order for a three-day remand after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defense.

Court Police Inspector Kaiyum Khan confirmed it, saying that former Law Minister Anisul Huq had been presented in court in connection with the murder case of Ashik Mia at Sonargaon Police Station. Initially, a five-day remand was requested, but after considering the submissions from both parties, the court decided to grant a three-day remand.

Earlier, on August 23, Ashik Mia’s mother, Kulsum Begum, filed a case with Sonargaon Police Station against 112 identified people including Anisul, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader, and 300 unidentified people.
