Ali Imam Majumder, Advisor to the Ministry of Food and Land, has announced that a total of 300,000 metric tons of rice will be distributed under the Food-Friendly Program in March and April, with 150,000 metric tons allocated each month in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan.
Additionally, under this program, 50 lakh (5 million) families will receive 15 kg of rice at a price of Tk 30 per kg. Moreover, during Eid, 10 million families will receive rice free of charge, he further stated.
He made these remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Monday (February 17).
Speaking on the electoral process, he stated, “The best elections held in the country so far have been conducted through the administration. At the same time, flawed elections have also occurred through the administration. The administration functions based on how it is utilized. We hope that during the interim government’s tenure, a good election will be conducted through administrative oversight.”
Ali Imam Majumder, who also serves as an advisor to the Ministry of Land, mentioned that by March 10, 80% of the e-mutation (digital land registration) process will be completed, meaning that 80% of land registration work will be digitized.
He further stated that the digitalization of the land mutation process is ongoing, ensuring that land documents are handled more efficiently. To eliminate public harassment in land-related matters, the interim government is taking all necessary measures. Instructions have been given to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to assist in this process.
