Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Advisor Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan said that, “Preparations have been taken to maintain normal power supply across the country during the fasting and summer seasons. So, there is no possibility of severe load shedding during this period like previous years.”
The adviser came up with the remarks, while replying to the queries of reporters after completion of his visit to the 68mw solar power plant at Sayedabad area in Sirajganj Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon.
Fauzul Kabir also said, “We have taken preparation to maintain uninterrupted power supply across the country during the upcoming Ramadan and summer season. Meanwhile, we have arranged dollar for purchasing fuel, gas and coal for power generation. The required coal and gas will be brought at the right time.”
“The annual maintenance activities of the power plants have been completed. If no untoward incident occurs at any power plant, we hope that, load-shedding will not be occurred this season.”
The advisor further said, “Even though the demand for power will increases after Ramadan due to heat wave, the power supply will keep uninterrupted for the sake of smooth irrigation (irrigation activities on land). So there will not be much problem with power during that time either.”
Before inspecting the solar power plant, Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan inspected the seven-day-long 7th National Comdeca activities at the Sirajganj Heart point area.
At that time, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Superintendent of Police Md. Faruk Hossain, Power Plant Project Director Tanvir Rahman and other officials of the Power Department were also present with the advisor.
