Legends of Rupganj have confirmed that veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not participate in this year’s Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Club officials on Sunday that Shakib’s joining have been postponed.

Legends of Rupganj have appealed to CCDM to postpone Shakib’s transfer request until further notice.

On Saturday, the Narayanganj-based club made headlines by announcing their plans to sign Shakib for the upcoming season.

The former world number one all-rounder had submitted his player transfer documents online, as he is currently not in Bangladesh. However, he is facing a ban on his bowling action. Last month, his action was found to be faulty during a second test in Chennai, resulting in his suspension from bowling in international cricket.

Concerns over Shakib’s bowling action first surfaced during a Division One match of the English County Championship in September. He later underwent an official assessment on December 2 at Loughborough University’s medical department near Birmingham.

Additionally, Shakib, a former Member of Parliament from the ruling Awami League, has been unable to return to Bangladesh since the student-led uprising on August 5. As a result, his international cricket career remains uncertain.
