A court on Thursday imposed a travel embargo on Mohammad Adnan Imam, former executive committee chairman of NRBC Bank PLC, over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The anti-graft body in its plea said the accused during his tenure as the executive committee chairman of NRBC Bank PLC, in collusion with others, amassed illegal wealth through stock market manipulation and other unlawful means and laundered the money abroad.
“The accused is trying to flee the country and a travel ban should be imposed on him for the sake of justice,” the plea added.
