A meeting on fixing of the meat prices was held at the conference room of Sirajganj Municipality in the town on Monday to keep the meat prices in tolerable level for all types of consumers.

The programme was presided over by Mohammad Kamrul Islam, Administrator of Sirajganj Municipality and Deputy Director of the Local Government Department.

The program was hosted by Executive Officer of the municipality Md. Rafiqul Islam.

President of Sirajganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry and District BNP President Md. Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Vice President Kh. M. Rakibul Hasan Ratan, Additional District Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abdur Rezzak, Veterinary Surgeon of Sadar Upazila Livestock Department Dr. Md. Meraj Hossain, Medical Officer of Sirajganj Municipality Dr. A.K.M. Farhad Hossain, Municipal Sanitary Inspector and Safe Food Inspector Kawsar Akhtar Dewan, President of District Meat and Fish Traders Association Faiz Uddin and other businessmen were also present in the event.

In the meeting, the prices of various types of meat were fixed marking the holy month of Ramadan. The price of beef or buffalo meat has been fixed at Tk 700 per kg, goat meat at Tk 1070 per kg and sheep meat at Tk 1000 per kg for the Ramadan month. The traders have been allowed to earn a profit of Tk 15 and Tk 20 respectively against per kg of Broiler and Sonali species of chicken from their purchasing prices.
