Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir returned home around 1.30pm on Thursday after receiving treatment at a hospital here for four days.
BNP media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed this information to the media and said, ‘The party’s Secretary General has now recovered. He returned home from the hospital this afternoon.’
Shairul Kabir Khan said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is likely to join an iftar party of BNP at a city hotel to be hosted in honor of diplomats.
Mirza Fakhrul was admitted to the United Hospital in Gulshan here on Sunday under Chief Cardiology Consultant Professor NAM Momenuzzaman as he was feeling unwell.
Doctors at the hospital said that Mirza Fakhrul’s sodium level had decreased and he was having difficulty breathing due to coughing and congestion in his chest and so, he was feeling very weak.
