Reazul Islam has been appointed as chairman of the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) for the next two years.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Towhid Bin Hasan, in this regard on Saturday (March 8).

Reazul is currently the president of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

He is a former president of pro-BNP engineers’ organisation Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB).

In a separate notification, the public administration ministry also cancelled the contractual appointment of the incumbent chairman of Rajuk, Maj Gen (retd) Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarkar.

Siddiqur was appointed as chairman on a contractual basis on 8 April 2023.

After the interim government came to power in August last year, his appointment was cancelled on 19 September.

However, the Ministry of Public Administration canceled that order two days later.
