“The law enforcement agencies are well-prepared to ensure the safety and security of the public. The police are in a strong position, and adequate steps have been taken for the safety of passengers travelling home for Eid,” Gani said.

He added that measures have been put in place to prevent theft, robbery, extortion and pickpocketing, with law enforcement agencies actively patrolling and conducting regular checks.

Shopping malls have also been secured in preparation for the festivities.

In response to potential labour unrest during Eid, Gani revealed that relevant authorities had been instructed to ensure the timely payment of wages and allowances to workers before the holiday.

He emphasised the importance of avoiding any disruptions to industrial peace during this period.

Chaired by the Home Affairs Adviser, Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, the meeting  was attended by key officials, including Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam.
