The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the 15-member squad for the second Test against Zimbabwe, set to begin on April 28 at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

Two changes headline the squad announcement. Veteran opener Anamul Haque Bijoy returns to the Test side after nearly two years, rewarded for his prolific form in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. The 32-year-old last featured in a Test match in 2022 and will add experience and depth to the top order.

The other change sees left-arm spinner Tanvir Islam earn his maiden Test call-up, replacing fast bowler Nahid Rana. With the spin-friendly conditions expected in Chattogram, Tanvir’s inclusion signals a strategic shift in Bangladesh’s bowling approach.

Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to lead the side, with all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz serving as vice-captain. The core of the squad remains consistent with experienced names like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, and Taijul Islam.

Bangladesh Squad:

Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan Ankon, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Vice Captain), Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Tanvir Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
