Brigadier General Md. Humayun Kabir, commander of Jessore Regional Headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said, “BGB would not give anyone concessions in context of border security. We always ready to deal with any situation on the border. BGB forces are working to stop drugs, smuggling and push-ins along the border.”

He came up with the remarks, while addressing as chief guest duringthe inauguration of newly built Debhata Chutipur BOP under the Nildumur Battalion (17 BGB) on Sunday (June 1).

He further said, “The local people have been cooperating with BGB in providing border security since before. We think, they will stand by our side in the future as well.”

“In addition, India is currently doing push-ins in different areas, which is completely illegal. We want any issue to be resolved at the state level. But they are letting illegal citizens and Bangladeshis of their country enter into the border area unexpectedly. If any citizen of Bangladesh is on their detention list, they should be returned to the country through proper channel by negotiations to confirm their address. But instead of doing that, the Indian forces are leaving them on deserted islands or chars. We will take initiatives to stop this,” he added.
