A passenger met to tragic death on the Hatikumrul-Bogura highway near Radhanagor area under Solongga police station in Sirajganj district on Wednesday, when he was jostled away by the helper and supervisor from a running bus.
The ill-fated victim was identified as Soukat Ahmed, 23, son of Solaiman Hossain of Begunipara village in Nandigram upazila of Bogura district.
The incident took place at around 1:00pm, when helper and supervisor of HK Paribahan threw him away by jostling from the running bus centering an altercation over a trifling matter. The victim died on the spot as his head was crushed under the backside wheel of the bus.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The driver, helper and supervisor of the bus managed to flee after the incident. Police seized the bus and lodged a case in this connection.
Abdur Rouf, Officer in Charge of Hatikumrul Highway thana said, Soukat along with his wife was returning to their home from Dhaka to celebrate Eid festival with their near and dear ones.
