Ex-Sirajganj SP Arifur suspended

The government has temporarily suspended Arifur Rahman Mandal, former Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sirajganj for absence in workplace without permission.

Regarding the issue, a notification has been issued.

According to a notification, Md. Arifur Rahman Mondal, who is currently attached to the DIG office in Barisal Range, has been remained absent from work since February 19 without legal permission of the authorities concerned.

The notification signed by the Deputy Secretary Nasimul Gani was issued on Wednesday (July 2) from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The notification revealed that, “As per Rule 3(c) of the Government Service Rules, 2018, Arifur Rahman Mondal has been suspended from government service from the date of his absence as per Sub-rule (1) of Rule 12. He will receive food allowance during the period of suspension.”

Insiders said, many police personnel have been disappeared without taking leave after fall out of Awami League government. Like many others, Arifur Rahman had not joined the work for a long time. This is why, he was fired for temporarily. So far, 17 police officers have been dismissed for not joining the work without taking legal permission, they said.
