Former Fisheries and Livestock Minister and former Sirajganj District Awami League President Abdul Latif Biswas was sent back to jail on Thursday.
Earlier on January 5, he was arrested from his home in Kamarpara village in Belkuchi upazila in a case filed in connection with the attack on Enayetpur Police Station, where 15 police personnel were killed.
According to the sources, he was produced before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Sirajganj on Thursday. The court set July 16, 2025 for next hearing date and sent him back to jail.
Abdul Latif Biswas was the former chairman of Sirajganj Zilla Parishad. He contested the last national election as an independent candidate after not getting party ticket. He had been staying at his house since August 5.
It is worth noting that, on August 4, during the student-public movement against discrimination, an attack was occurred on Enayetpur police station in Sirajganj that claimed lives of 15 cops. He was arrested as a suspected accused in that case.
