Another death was reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8:00am to Thursday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 45 this year.

The new death was reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation).

During the period, 358 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 11,456 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement on Thursday (July 3).

Of the new cases, highest 150 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 32 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 45 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 39 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 39 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 14 cases were recorded in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 5 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 3 in Rangpur (outside the city corporation), 2 in Sylhet (outside the city corporation) and 29 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation).
