Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was given rest from the second ODI against Sri Lanka on Saturday as part of his workload management.
Hasan Mahmud replaced him in the squad as Bangladesh were chasing a series-leveling victory at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Taskin took 4-47 in the first ODI, which was his first match after recovering from the injury that kept him out of the side since February. He bowled full 10 overs in extreme heat and humidity in Colombo, something which took a huge toll on his body.
His effort helped Bangladesh wrap up Sri Lanka for a moderate total of 244 runs but the batters eventually sank the team, causing a 77-run defeat.
Bangladesh made another change in the second ODI with Shamim Patwari replacing out-of-form Liton Das.
