An unidentified pedestrian was killed, when a CNG driven auto-rickshaw hit him at Shreekhola intersection area in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district on Tuesday noon.

Local witnesses and police said, the accident took place at around 12:00pm, when an unauthorized CNG driven auto-rickshaw hit him from behind, while he was crossing the road.

Locals rescued him in a critical condition and took to Kawak Hospital in Ullapara upazila headquarters, but the on duty doctors declared him dead.

The identity of the deceased could not be known so far.

Md Ashraful Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Hatikumrul Highway thana said, body was recovered and sent to respective morgue for autopsy.
