Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus would announce the date of the next parliamentary polls within four to five days, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider said on Saturday.

“The chief adviser said he would announce the election timeline in the next four to five days. Nothing could be more joyful than this news,” he told the media after a meeting held between Prof Yunus and 14 political parties at the state guest house Jamuna in the capital.

The Jatiya Party leader said the election would resolve the ongoing chaos and help solve many other issues.

Earlier, the chief adviser held meetings with leaders of various political parties and alliances, including the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, in two phases.

On Saturday afternoon, he sat with leaders of 14 more parties and alliances.
