Another death was reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Monday 8:00am to Tuesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 79 this year.

The new death was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

During the period, 393 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 20,316 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement on Tuesday (July 29).

Of the new cases, 101 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 64 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 52 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 46 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 60 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 26 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation).

Besides, one was reported in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 38 were recorded in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), and five in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation).
