The body of former Army Chief M Harun-ur-Rashid has been recovered from the guest house of Chittagong Club. His body was recovered on Monday (August 4) in the afternoon.

Police suspect that Harun-ur-Rashid may have died due to health complications.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Deputy Commissioner (South), Md. Alamgir Hossain, told that former Army Chief Harun arrived in Chattogram from Dhaka on Sunday afternoon. He checked into a VIP room at the Chittagong Club around 4 PM.

About an hour later, he went out of the club and returned around 10:45 PM.

He had a scheduled program this morning. When he did not come out of his room even by 10 AM, the staff became suspicious.

Later, club officials and employees broke a glass window at the back of the room and entered, only to find him dead inside.
