Bangladesh women’s football team made a historic leap in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, climbing 24 places to reach 104th — the highest jump by any nation this month.

The team also gained an impressive +80.51 points, marking their biggest-ever rise in the global standings.

This dramatic climb comes on the back of Bangladesh’s remarkable performance in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, which also serves as the Asian qualification route for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027.

They secured a place in the final round of qualifiers by registering stunning victories over Myanmar, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan.

The rise reflects a growing momentum in Bangladesh women’s football, with increased investment, improved grassroots development, and enhanced performances at international level contributing to their progress.

Meanwhile, Spain returned to the top of the rankings after reaching the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 final with five straight wins, overtaking the United States, who slipped to second despite three friendly victories.

France made the biggest impression among the top ten, moving up four places to sixth after a strong showing at the Euros.

But the spotlight firmly rests on Bangladesh — the biggest climbers this edition — whose rise signals a new era for women’s football in the country.
