A press conference was held in Sirajganj town on Thursday presenting allegation of grabbing property worth around Tk 2 crore by fraudulent.

The organizer of press conference in a written statement said that, his elder sister Hosne Ara Mim, also daughter of Advocate Abdul Hamid, 80, of Kalibari Ghospara in Sirajganj town has taken about six Bighas of land worth around Tk 2 crore on her hand deceiving other sisters and brother.

Adv. Abdul Hamid’s son TM Nur Ejaz raised these allegations and said that, on the evening of February 16, four men including his sister associate Sohag abducted him and kept in confine at the ‘Renaissance Rehab Center’ terming him as a drug addict. At that time, he was physically and mentally tortured in the rehab center. At the same time, Sohag took his wife Mehezabien Mou and their children to Dhaka from Sirajganj and kept them confined in his elder sister’s house. Later, on the occasion of a relative’s family function, his wife escaped from the house and returned to her husband to make him release from the rehab centre. On May 15, his wife in collaboration with their relatives freed him from rehab in exchange for money, Ejaz said.

He further said, while keeping me in rehab, my elder sister wrote down about 6 bighas of property worth about Tk 2 crore of my old age father in three documents on March 23 and 24 which documents no. are respectively 1228, 1980 and 1981.

He claimed that, the market value of these lands was about Tk 2 crore. Nur Ejaz also said that his father’s signature was taken by his elder sister Hosne Ara Mimi by misleading him, which video footage has been preserved to him.

Asked whether he had taken legal action in this regard, he said that when he went to complain to the police station, he was advised to file a case in court. Later, when he went to file a case in court, the leaders of the Bar Association assured to resolve the matter through discussions, but no solution has been found so far. Later, despite two rounds of legal notices, the accused did not appear in court.

Ejaz also said that, the masterminds behind the fraud incident are Sohag and his family members, who have been spreading misinformation against Nur Ejaz on social media and threatening to hand him over to RAB.

He demanded a proper investigation and exemplary punishment to the involved, whose were behind the fraudulent.

Meanwhile, admitting the truth of writing down her father’s 182 decimals of land, elder sister Hosne Ara Mimi said, “We are three sisters and one brother. I am the eldest. The other two sisters live outside the country. With their advice, our three sisters’ shares have been written down in my name. And my brother’s share has been left out. We did this mainly because my brother is a drug addict. Moreover, he was also kept in rehab to get better.”
