A tree plantation programme, Doa Mahfil and discussion meeting were held in memory of the martyre Nazrul Islam and Lebu in Dhanghora village of Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj district on Thursday.
Dr. M.A. Latif, Vice-President of Sirajganj District BNP, District BNP Joint General Secretary Milan Islam Khan, District BNP Organizing Secretary Mirza Mostafa Zaman, District Sramik Dal General Secretary Niyamul Hakim Saju, District BNP Student Affairs Secretary Khorshed Alam Mintu, Co-Propaganda Secretary Jinnah Sardar, Former Mayor of Raiganj Municipality Mosharraf Hossain Akand, Tarash Municipality BNP Joint Convener Saiful Khandaker, Hatikumrul Union BNP Former Organizing Secretary Atiqul Rahman Helal, Borohar Union BNP Member Shahin Reza, District Volunteer Dal Joint Convener Akash Khandaker, District Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Taibul Hasan and Tarash Upazila Volunteer Dal Member Oliuzzaman Oli, July fighter Sheikh Riyad, Md. Nasima Khatun, Martyr Nazrul Islam’s father Kawsar Sheikh and Martyr Lebu’s brother Fazal Ali were also present at the events.
District BNP Organizing Secretary Mirza Mostofa Zaman said, “The sacrifices of Nazrul and Lebu have restored democracy and human rights in Bangladesh. Today, we are not only remembering them, but also sowing the seeds of patriotism among the new generation by informing them of this history.”
After conducting special prayers for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs, saplings of various species were planted through the event.
