Selim Talukdar, Shahjadpur:

One individual was killed and ten others were injured in a road mishap at Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj district on Saturday.

The incident occurred in front of Baghabari workers union on the Bogura-Nagarbari Highway.

The deceased was identified as Bahadur, 45, a resident of Potajia village under the upazila. He was a van driver by profession.

According to locals, the incident occurred when a Dhaka-heading passenger bus lost control and hit a three-wheeler and a van, which caused the van driver, Bahadur, to die on the spot and ten others were injured.

Later, locals rescued and took eight of them to Shahjadpur Upazila Health Complex and two of them to Bangladesh Medical and Khaja Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdur Rouf confirmed the incident and said that legal procedure will be taken after proper investigation.
